October 2016 updates from Jezweb

october 2016 updates from jezweb

Hi, Jeremy. I’m sure you don’t need me to remind you how quickly the silly season is approaching now too, with shops adorned in red and white with plastic green trees everywhere. Enough said about that for now.

With Dave’s help, we are going to be writing at least monthly with news, ideas, and shout outs about some of the works we have done.

Don’t be afraid to unsubscribe if you don’t want to hear from us again for some reason. No offense will be taken. If you want, here’s a link do that.

Dave and I have been collaborating on the website and podcast for Beach Business Breakfast (a fun, monthly business catch up at Merewether Surf Club) and he has been helping recently with website text and articles for a few Jezweb projects too. But right now, we’d like to give you a few updates on what is happening at Jezweb.

Hunter Region Business Excellence Awards

Thanks to our great team and clients, we’ve been awarded, for the 3rd year in a row, the Internet Based Business of the Year at the recent 2016 Hunter Region Business Excellence Awards.

In addition, we were a finalist in the Business of the Year category and Rachel, from our team, was a finalist for the Individual Customer Service Award!

We had a fun night and it was nice catching up with people there.

Meet the Team: John Clune

John-Clune

This month we meet John Clune, the Business Development Manager at Jezweb.

What’s my role and what does it involve?

My role is a combination of Project Management and Sales this means that I get to work with a lot of our new clients, which is great. I get involved in initial discussions and meetings, website requirements, and the scope of work involved so that we can develop a quote for the work the client needs.

Once the client has agreed to appoint us, I continue to have a role within the project assisting Rachel and the rest of the Jezweb team as required.

What’s the best part of your job at Jezweb?

I enjoy talking to clients and in helping them identify, unpack, and confirm their website requirements.  This ensures we are both clear on and can achieve the deliverables needed to meet timeframe and budget.

My complete focus in conversations with our clients is to gain an understanding of how Jezweb can deliver a website which grows the client’s business.

What did I do before joining Jezweb?

I spent time in corporate roles including:

  • Sales and Marketing Manager for Viva Holidays
  • Marketing Manager for Best Western Hotels
  • General Manager of Marketing for the Flag Choice Hotel Group

This gave me an understanding of the need to put the necessities of the clients first and foremost.

Any sporting interests?

While in Sydney, I played 1st-grade rugby for the Eastwood Rugby Club in Sydney and I was also a member of Bilgola Surf Club in Sydney for 7 years.  Currently, I’m still an active umpire in the Newcastle District Cricket Association which includes the odd 1st-grade fixture (he obviously has the appointments’ manager completely fooled!)

Any other Hobbies or Interests?

I’m the proud father of a 21-year-old son who lives in a residential college at Sydney University and I’m known to occasionally partake in a red wine, white wine, beer, or any other alcoholic beverage.

I’m also a member of the Warners Bay Rotary Club and plays a key role in organising the website for Loop the Lake bike ride, a passion shared by Jeremy Dawes.

A couple of our recently completed websites

Wine Design

The website includes a customised checkout process with selectable features for personalisation of wine bottles.

We were recommended to use Jezweb for the redesign of our website by Pokolbin Estate and am very glad that we did. We had postponed a renewal of our website for too many years believing the cost would be prohibitive, however the quote was a pleasant surprise.  The entire process through planning, design and launching has been made so easy by Jeremy, Rachel and the rest of the Jezweb team. We now have a modern and functional website that looks great and is already providing more corporate inquiries and orders through the on line shop than our previous site. We have also extended our relationship with Jezweb by undertaking SEO and a Google Adwords campaign through them. This has shown encouraging results in the early stages.

GATO Sales and Repairs

The website showcases bold images and branding for Gato who are a local Kobelco center.

We went to JezWeb to help renew and build our online presence a couple of years ago. We had a basic website setup and were getting no leads or traffic engagement. Jeremy and the team consulted us on what we wanted to achieve from our website and advised on the best way to showcase our brand, products and services. Once the website was live we were getting a lot of extra traffic as well as customers and suppliers commenting on how good our website was. The great thing about Jezweb is the ongoing support and how easy it is to change and amend things as the business’ needs change. Great company, great people and the best service.
