The Short Version
Jeremy Dawes has spent more than 25 years helping Australian small and medium-sized businesses get online and grow. He founded Jezweb to fill a gap he saw early on: business owners needed quality websites that were affordable, easy to manage, and actually worked to bring in customers. That core mission hasn’t changed — but the tools and technology certainly have. Today, Jeremy leads a team that combines deep web development experience with emerging AI and automation capabilities to help clients do more with their digital presence. He’s hands-on, approachable, and genuinely invested in the success of the businesses Jezweb serves.
The Full Story
Jeremy’s journey into web development started in the early 2000s. He was in his early twenties, working in computer repairs, when a friend asked if he could build a website for his business. That single request opened his eyes to something bigger — there were thousands of small businesses across Australia that needed a reliable, no-nonsense web partner. Not a big agency with big agency prices, but someone who’d pick up the phone, understand what they were trying to achieve, and actually deliver.
He founded Jezweb and set about doing exactly that. Over the years, the company has grown to manage around 1,500 websites for businesses across Australia, spanning everything from local trades and professional services to retail, hospitality, and not-for-profits. The common thread through all of it has been a practical, outcomes-focused approach — building sites that look great, rank well, and help business owners spend less time worrying about their web presence and more time running their businesses.
Staying Ahead of the Curve
The web industry doesn’t sit still, and neither does Jeremy. Over 25 years he’s navigated every major shift — from the early days of static HTML sites to content management systems, mobile-first design, the ever-evolving world of SEO, and now the rise of artificial intelligence.
Rather than treating AI as a buzzword, Jeremy has been actively building with it. Jezweb is integrating AI and automation into its services to help clients work smarter: from intelligent website generation and content tools to voice agents and workflow automation that save real time and money. His philosophy is straightforward — AI should make things easier for business owners, not give them another complex system to learn.
“I’ve never been satisfied doing the same thing year after year. When a client asks for help with something, my natural reaction is to say yes and work out how to make it happen. That mindset has kept Jezweb relevant through two and a half decades of constant change — and it’s what drives us now as we bring AI into the mix for our clients.”
People First
One of the things Jeremy is most proud of is the team and community Jezweb has built. The company has provided meaningful employment for people from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and skill levels — many of whom have used Jezweb as a launchpad for their careers. Creating an environment where people can grow, contribute, and support their families has always been just as important as the client work.
Jeremy is also a long-standing member of BNI Sunrisers, where he’s been building business relationships and supporting other local business owners since 2017. The recognition Jezweb has received over the years — including Hunter Region Business Excellence Awards and Australian Achiever Awards — reflects the consistent standard the team works to maintain.
Outside of Work
When he’s not at his desk, you’ll find Jeremy spending time with his wife Pip and their two daughters. He’s been an active parent helper with the local Scout group since 2018, and when he gets the chance to escape into the outdoors, he’s usually mountain bike orienteering (currently leading his division in the BOSS competition series) or out on the water in an outrigger canoe.
