Email Setup for Outlook 2013 with Rackspace Mail

01 – Opening Outlook 2013 for the first time

or if you have opened outlook before it may not prompt to setup an account

2a – If not prompted as above go to the File Tab and Add Account
and then continue from step 04…

03 – Leave the option on Yes to create an email account and press Next

04 – You will be prompted to enter details of your email account which you can do if you like

05 – Select Manual setup and press Next to proceed

06 – Select POP IMAP and then Next

07 – Choose IMAP for cloud mail sync between computer and phone or POP to download separate copies to each device

08 – Incoming and outgoing server is secure.emailsrvr.com and the email address is the username

09 – Click More Settings – Outgoing tab: tick my outgoing server smtp requires authentication

10 – Click onto the advanced tab. Change the incoming drop down box to SSL and the outgoing one to Auto and enter the outgoing port number as 587.

11 – Press the ok button and then next to complete the settings

12 – Choose Recommended Settings and Accept if you see this window

13 – Once the main email window loads you should see the test message in the inbox

The account is now setup and you can create messages etc., as expected.
