How will your website get into the search engines and why is that important?
I prefer to tackle on a number of angles, if you research on the net about search engines, optimisation and website design you can learn most of what I know if you have the time. There’s no magic bullet or one single solution but after promoting and developing websites since 2000 I have come to understand the key issues in getting into search engines and having people visit your site.
The first aspect to this issue is to have a reasonable pay-per-click advertising campaign with Google (possibly MSN and Yahoo as well), at least a couple of dollars a day or more, to get some instant results and visitors to your website so that you get enquiries and it starts paying for itself right away. Fundamental to the success of your business website is having information about your products, services, clients, jobs and you, and the more of it the better. I’d much rather have a CD full of files and information than be scratching for the first 2 paragraphs of text and you’ll get dramatically better outcomes with thorough information on your website. This is especially true if you and I tweak it a bit with the appropriate keywords, tags, emphasis and interlinking of the pages or sections in your site so they cross reference each other.
And finally, some extra-site marketing which mainly involves getting references and articles on other websites that link to, discuss, refer or allude to your website and promote the information on your site and the credibility of its sources.
